In the spring of 2025, we developed a complete template design for the company Nuvinnos's service Memorial pages (minnessidor). This is a system that funeral homes implement into their own web site, and they set up a memory page portal for each person who passes away.

On the memorial pages, visitors can order flowers, leave a message, light a candle, and register for the funeral, among other things.

My colleague and I delivered the entire design in Figma, including the design system. We also conducted user tests during the project and held requirements meetings and demos with customers in both Norway and Sweden.

Challenges:

  • The system and design needed to be flexible enough to be easily implemented for different customers in different countries.

  • The system would be used by a broad target group with completely different digital experiences.

  • Memorial pages are a relatively new phenomenon that need to feel credible to visitors who are not entirely convinced that it is appropriate to honor the deceased online. Therefore, great importance was placed on serious and credible design.

  • The memorial pages are a mixture of purely digital flows (e.g., making a post, registering for a memorial service) and more analog flows (creating an obituary for a printed newspaper, displaying an obituary from a newspaper, displaying a printed funeral program).

NUVINNO/Jølstad
(ONGOING PROJECT)

The implementation of the system is ongoing in (feb 2026) at Norway's largest funeral home, Jølstad.

Several other large agencies in Sweden and Norway have purchased the system and will implement it during 2026.

I have also been entrusted with designing other services for Nuvinnos' customers, including a customer portal.
